What a perfect weekend for the 2017 Scott Cline Memorial Regatta.
The RC, led by Rear Commodore Larry Munns, got off 4 buoy races on Saturday as the rain let up and before the big blow that came in later that evening. After the first day of racing, only 2 points separated the top 3 boats; Vertigo, Renaissance and Yeah Dogg, respectively. A delicious catered meal awaited the hungry sailors after a fun day of racing.
Sunday's race consisted of the long distance race to Baby Island and back. Challenging wind holes and persistence was the name of the game as the fleet made its way south. Crewed by father/son team (Shannon and Tommy Buys), the very light and nimble sport boat Vertigo was able to split from the fleet and take the win for the day, sealing the top spot for the weekend.
Thanks to all who made it out as we closed out another fantastic season of racing in one of the best venues around!
