Although Dave Steckman on Renaissance finished fourth in the final race of the Oak Harbor Yacht Club Frostbite Sailing Series Thursday, April 12, it was just high enough to claim the overall season title.
Chad Holcomb and Yeah Dogg 108, pushed along by southwest winds, won Thursday’s race and tied Steckman with 14 season points, but Steckman won the tie-breaker, the most first-place finishes in the series.
Jim McAlpine on Lucky Jim was second Thursday and third over the season. Steve Hucke took third in the final race and fourth overall. Rex Dupuis and Gadzooks were fifth in both the final race and final standings.

During the Thursday night racing series, the Oak Harbor Yacht Club also runs a Windseeker class. In this division the boats do not fly spinnakers, and this allows novice skippers a chance to get on the water and learn the ropes of racing.
