Wind Warrior skippered by Dean Vandament finished first in the overall standings in the Flying Sails division of the Oak Harbor Yacht Club’s Magic Juan Series, which finished its season Thursday, June 27.

In the Windseeker division, Sojourn (Bruce Eastman) and Malolo (Ron de Ru), the only two boats to compete this spring, tied for first.

Vandament captured the overall title but finished second to Dave Steckman and Juan Solo in both races in the series’ final day of competition Thursday.

Chad Holcomb aboard Yeah Dogg was third and Steve Hucke in Obi Juan was fourth in the first race Thursday; the two switched positions in the second.

Bill Brown and SWIFT and Larry Munns in Pearl Jam took fifth and sixth in both races.

Steckman placed second to Vandament in the overall standings, followed by Holcomb, Hucke, Shannon Buys (Vertigo), Munns and Allan Wilson (Toto).
